POSTCARDS FROM PARIS (2021)

Preparing to travel has, for me, always involved packing a blank journal, at the back of which I’ve written the addresses of a number of relatives and friends. This is because, to me, travel and postcards go hand in hand. Travel is the great escape, a wonderful adventure, and I’ve always loved sharing that joy by way of postcards. I also love receiving them but it seems they’ve been going the way of the dinosaur.

Having decided to extend my ‘Postcards from …’ series to places not only here in Australia but around the world (places I’ve had the good fortune to travel to over the past 35+ years), I had the perfect excuse to revisit Paris when I was given the opportunity to exhibit at Marie-France. I was in the French capital in the height of the northern summer, July 2007. This trip had begun with a couple of weeks travelling through Tuscany, followed by a couple of nights in Vienna before heading next door to Slovakia. After that, a short stay in Prague before ending our trip in Paris.

Unless noted otherwise, the paintings below are available for purchase. Please drop me an email.
