BOOKS FOR JOHN AND MARK (2016)

Once I’d accumulated enough paintings I felt were worthy of a long life, I gathered them together and had two books custom-made, one for each of my nephews who live in the US. I wanted to give them something personal, and lasting, as they’re the single branch for my family’s next generation. Most of the paintings were done using photographs as references, ones I’d taken on my travels – in the United States and Australia, as well as a few other faraway places – and all of them had some personal reason for being included. Each book contained twenty paintings, and alongside every painting was a brief hand-written description of what the subject was and why it was special for me.
